A committed team of 10 charity fundraisers, made up of Jubilee Hall Trust staff, members and friends has just completed a 280 mile cycle from London to Paris! With the support of event management company, Adventure Cafe, and Putney cycle retailer, Velosport, the team covered the distance in four days and cruised victoriously up the Champs Elysees on Saturday.
Jubilee Hall Trust Chief Executive, Phil Rumbelow, said:
‘Many of us hadn’t cycled since we were kids, so taking on this challenge required a good deal of training over the freezing and wet winter, but the fact that we knew we were raising money for good causes spurred us all on when the going got tough! I would say that we have earned a good sit down, but at the moment standing up is more comfortable!’
The team raised a total of over £5300 for a range of cancer charities and local hospices and is considering taking on a Moroccan challenge next year from Marrakesh to the Sahara!
