Jubilee Hall Trust nominated for two awards!

Jubilee Hall Trust (JHT) is a finalist in two categories in the Active Westminster Awards! The Jubilee Hall gym in Covent Garden has been nominated for most Active Place, with achievements this year including  a huge increase in the number of concessionary members and the launch of a new GP Exercise on referral scheme. The gym also offers free membership to young athletes on Westminster council’s Champions of the Future programme and allows free and heavily discounted access to its studios for local community groups, as well as providing ballroom dance teachers to a local community centre and school.
JHT has also been nominated in the Health & Wellbeing Project category for their Big Dance Bus programme which took place in the summer. Working in partnership with Capital & Counties, NHS Westminster, Urban Activities and Maloca, the Trust arranged for the Big Dance Bus to come to the Covent Garden Piazza and invited 27 local community organisations to perform on the stage. In the lead-up to the event, JHT provided St Clement Danes, a local primary school, with a dance teacher free of charge for 12 weeks in order to teach and prepare the children for their performance.
The winners of the Active Westminster Awards will be announced at an event featuring a number of Olympic and Paralympic athletes to be held on Friday 30th November at the world-famous Lord’s cricket ground.
