Winners of this year’s Active Training Awards have been revealed at a gala event in Birmingham. Organised by ukactive and the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), the Active Training Awards recognise employers and training providers in the physical activity sector for their workforce development.
This year’s awards saw eight winners selected from a broader spectrum of employers than ever before – from traditional fitness markets to community operators and public health programmes. Among the winners were Jubilee Hall Trust (JHT), named as ‘Small Employer of the Year’.
JHT Chief Executive, Phil Rumbelow, said:
“We are delighted to have received this recognition, which is testament to the outstanding work put in by all of our managers and staff teams to create a working environment that is true to our values of being passionate, inclusive, productive, enterprising and supportive.”
These sentiments were echoed by Tara Dillon, CIMSPA chief executive, who said:
“I’d like to congratulate all of our award winners for their stellar achievement in delivering great learning and development opportunities across the sport and physical activity sector.
“I hope others can take inspiration from the successful programmes and best practice demonstrated by these award winners, and look to build similar innovation and excellence into their own services across our communities.”
