No price rise for concessions in 2013!

For the eighth successive year, Jubilee Hall Trust has frozen the pay-and-play rates for the unemployed, disabled, and the over 60’s at The Armoury in Camden and Jubilee Hall in Covent Garden. These concessions pay just £3 per visit, a 70% discount off the usual daily rates, and the rates will remain the same for the whole of 2013.
Chief Executive, Phil Rumbelow, said:
‘At a time of funding cuts, when ordinary people are struggling to make ends meet, we need to ensure that we look after the most disadvantaged in our society, who also typically have the greatest health inequalities. We know that regular physical activity has many benefits to both physical and mental health and a visit to one of our gyms will cost them the same in 2013 as it did back in 2005. This is only possible thanks to our unique business model where the ‘haves’ subsidise the ‘have nots’ without any need for Government or council funding. At our Armoury gym in Camden, almost 900 local residents – 41% of our members – benefit from this, enabling them to live healthier and happier lives.’
