Run for Your Life 2021 – What a day!
23rd September 2021
On Saturday 11th September Jubilee Hall Trust hosted their 6th annual Run for Your Life event on Hampstead Heath. The atmosphere was electric and participants happy to see us back after postponing 2020’s event.
It turned out to be the most successful event we have had as we raised over £3300 for the charity. Money raised from the run entry fees will be put towards delivering activity based programmes in the communities we operate in to help us in our mission to ‘Build Healthier Communities’.
A total of 588 runners from all walks of life registered to take on the 3 distances of 2k, 5, and 10k. The youngest finisher was 3 years old and the most senior at 83 years young.
There were stories of people meeting on the run for the first time and total strangers holding hands to cross the finish after completing their very first 5k event. There were brand new runners as well as familiar faces from local athletics clubs. We had families run with their children and one even pushing their buggy around the trail course.
These fun, inclusive days are essential in boosting mental health and reintroducing that lost social aspect that Covid had taken from us.
Thanks go out to Hampstead Heath for their ongoing support, Breathe London for their sponsorship and looking after the runners post race, The Race Organiser for planning the route and chip timing and our very own team of Jubilee Hall Trust volunteers.
Next year’s event is already live. Register here. Hope to see you there!
