To encourage more South Asians to take up exercise, Jubilee Hall Gym is holding a free Bhangra fitness class to celebrate the annual festival of Diwali.
Oliver Deen, Club Manager of Jubilee Hall Gym says:
“With so much new research recently about people with a South Asian ethnicity being more susceptible to sedentary health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, we felt offering this class is important as part of our weekly schedule. Since the start of the new class coincides with Diwali, why not celebrate the wonderful festival of lights with some Bhangra?”
Bhangra instructor Ravi Sandhu said:
“I have been teaching Bhangra dancing for fitness since 2007. In 2013 I set up a brand calling it Pungra. My passion is group exercise because it’s such a motivating and social form of activity”.
The free class runs on Thursday 7th November from 6pm to 6.45pm, and is suitable for anyone over 18 and able to participate in moderate exercise. Numbers are limited to the first 20 people, so contact Ravi now to reserve your space!
