Active-8! Get ready, set……
21st November 2011
Our fledgling programme in Putney now has three confirmed funding streams from the law firm, Russell-Cooke, as well as Jubilee Hall Trust and the local community. The project will be having a fundraising event on Saturday 3rd December 2011 at 5.30 at Maloca 287 Putney Bridge Road, London, SW15 2PT. The project has so far raised £4,000 from the partners and is aiming for another £1,000 on this date.
Active-8! is a self-funded community health programme designed to increase the fitness and well-being of our local community through Capoeira, Zumba, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, social inclusion and mentoring support.
Active-8! offers individualised support to a group of “inactive” young people over a period of 3 months with specific targets:
· Attending 2 fitness sessions per week
· Attending one-to-one sessions – at least 2 – during 1 month.
We will empower them physically and mentally through 3 fitness programmes and a mentoring intervention that is tailor-made for each individual person.
Participants will pay £1 per class to promote responsible attitude.
